The Universities of Freiburg and Strasbourg (École Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg (ESBS)), in cooperation with Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, offer the two-year Master’s degree programme in Biology with a specialisation in Biotechnology. This can also be studied together with the second and third years of the Engineer's degree in Biotechnology.
In the second semester of the Master’s degree programme, students choose an individual specialism: Synthetic Biology, Plant Biotechnology/High Throughput Analyses or Engineering. In cooperation between the universities, the University of Freiburg awards the degree “Master of Science Biology, specialisation in Biotechnology” and the Université de Strasbourg awards the degree “Master en Biotechnologies”.
