The Biotechnology specialisation can already be chosen in the advanced study phase (5th/6th semester) of the Bachelor of Science Biology degree programme at the University of Freiburg. The scientific training in the Biotechnology specialisation continues in the 5th and 6th semester at the École Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg (ESBS) and corresponds to the first year of the Engineer's degree programme in Biotechnology. In the Bachelor's module, the Bachelor's thesis on a topic in the field of biotechnology is to be completed in the sixth semester. The University of Freiburg awards the degree “Bachelor of Science Biology Specialization Biotechnology”.
