Three Peaks – One Spirit
With the “Eucor Running & Hiking Challenge 2026”, Eucor invites its university community to move together – across borders and in the spirit of European connection.
The “Eucor Running & Hiking Challenge 2026” brings together the universities of the Upper Rhine region through a shared running and hiking experience. Three mountains, three countries, one common region: the Grand Ballon in France, the Belchenfluh in Switzerland, and the Belchen in Germany. The three peaks are part of the historic Belchen system – an ancient network of prominent mountains that has symbolically connected the people of the Upper Rhine region since antiquity.
The focus is not on speed or competition, but on community, endurance, and the European spirit: reaching the three Belchen summits together by running or hiking, while creating new encounters across national and university borders.

Participation
- Option 1: Community Events
Join the three official community events of the “Eucor Running & Hiking Challenge 2026” and experience the ascents together with students and staff from all Eucor universities. - Option 2: Self-Organised Groups
Alternatively, the three peaks can be completed throughout the year in self-organised groups. The only requirement is that each summit is reached together with at least one participant from another Eucor university. A group photo taken at the summit is sufficient as proof of participation.
