Dies Universitatis
On 19 May 2026, the University of Freiburg invites you to the Dies Universitatis. This academic celebration is held under the theme “Internationality as a strategy for the future – universities in global transformation” and is part of the anniversary of the EGTC Eucor – The European Campus.
The focus is on the further development of international university cooperation: representatives from the Eucor network will discuss how cross-border collaboration in research, teaching, and governance can be strengthened in the face of global crises and ongoing transformation processes.

- Musical opening
- Welcome address by Rector Kerstin Krieglstein
- Awarding of the University Medal to Robert Zeiser and the title of Honorary Senator to Andrea Schenker-Wicki
- “Three questions to…” Bernd Finger (Director of Eucor)
- Panel discussion with: Andrea Schenker-Wicki (University of Basel), Kerstin Krieglstein (University of Freiburg), Pierre Alain Muller (Université de Haute-Alsace), Thomas Hirth (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) and Jean-Marc Planeix (University of Strasbourg)
- Closing reception with aperitif
