How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the form available below on this page.

In exceptional cases and only if agreed upon beforehand with the project manager, applications (e.g. from researchers at risk) may be submitted via mail. It must be postmarked before or on the date of the deadline.

Only applications submitted until 18 March 2026 17:00 (Brussels time) will be accepted for the evaluation process.

Incomplete applications will be disregarded.

You are allowed to contact your potential supervisors for more information about the topics you wish to apply to before preparing an application only. Supervisors have no role in the recruitment process or decision making.

When applying on the Eucor website, applicants will be able to choose two topics as a first and second choice. The application will only be evaluated on the basis of the first choice. The second choice will only be taken into consideration at the end of the evaluation process in case:

  1. The candidate is not selected for her/his first choice
  2. And her/his second choice is not filled by another candidate

If both conditions apply, the application would then be presented to the selection committee of the second choice.

Applicants must have a proof of their master degree at the deadline of the call according to the European Commission requirements (diploma or official certificate, transcripts only are not sufficient to be eligible).

A complete application must consist of:

  • Motivation letter
  • CV
  • Reference letter (must be included in your application on this website and cannot be provided by future potential supervisor)
  • Ethics self-assessment (only using the template for the ethics self-assessment provided)
  • A copy of your Master's degree (diploma/certificate) or any equivalent official degree that enables to embark on a doctoral programme. Transcripts only are not eligible.

All documents must be submitted in English and as a single PDF file. Please put your family name at the beginning of the  the file name.

In case you notice a mistake in your file after submitting it, you can resubmit your entire application again before the deadline. Only your last application will be evaluated.
